OBSG4BS Live in Tokyo 2025
The performance was held as part of the party Kankan Cabaret, hosted by the live house Tsukimiru Kimi Omou in Tokyo, Japan. It presented a special stage where Korean traditional music and roots music came together and resonated beyond borders.
Lee Hee-moon, a traditional successor of Gyeonggi folk songs, is both a vocalist and stage director who has continuously pursued new experiments in the Korean folk scene. His projects have drawn attention for their avant-garde stage productions, and OBSG has been creating a new form of “Neo-Minyō” by combining folk music with genres such as rock, disco, and dub.
For this concert in Japan, the group performed under the name OBSG 4BS, a six-member formation specializing in band sound, and illuminated the main stage.
A special trio also appeared, consisting of Nakanishi Lemon, a vocalist representing the Japanese folk song and Bon Odori scene; Sato Miyuki, who sings folk music from Bulgaria and the Balkan region; and Agasa, a singer-songwriter and arranger, together forming the unit Suzume no Tears (すずめのティアーズ). In addition, the nine-piece dance music band DF7B and Oishi Hajime, a roots music digger and writer, joined the stage as DJ.
This stage became a diverse festival that connected music from Korea, Japan, and various parts of the world.
